After a fruitful 2009, full of spectacular shows of all kinds, the Montreal-based company saw its growing success rewarded with two industry prizes, won as part of two prestigious contests, the 2010 Event Solutions Spotlight Awards (ESSA) and the 2010 Canadian Event Industry Awards (CEIA).

A NEW PROJECT: A PUBLIC SHOW BY CIRQUE FANTASTIC
CIRQUE FANTASTIC has been entertaining thousands of people since 1997 with its shows produced for the special events industry, in Canada and everywhere around the world. More recently, we enjoyed tremendous success with our two Mexican tours. Also, we were very pleased to witness the great enthusiasm expressed by the public, the media and various levels of governments towards the first edition of the Montréal complètement cirque festival (which concluded on July 25). So, it seems a natural evolution for us to develop our own public show, with an objective to reach international audiences. At first, we plan to offer this show on tour throughout the province of Quebec, Canada and Central America. Our goal is to present an entertaining event that will bring people together. Our star acrobats will be among the most accomplished in Quebec. Some completely spellbinding ideas are being elaborated. The entire Cirque Fantastic team is opening the door to all ingenious creative people, in order to put together a winning group of contributors. We are also opening the door to sponsors, financial partners, local, provincial and federal grant-giving agencies as well as all exhibitors who can help us make our dream come true – to be able to offer a public show in Canada, finally.
More information will be available as this project moves forward.

This 38-year-old trapeze artist and mother of 4 founded her own circus company, CIRQUE FANTASTIC, in 1998 – and she still takes part in every show that the company presents. As President and Artistic Director of the company, she introduces herself as an “artist-athlete-businesswoman.” She speaks to journalist Claude Deschênes for the cultural segment of Radio-Canada’s news program, Le Téléjournal Montréal.

CIRQUE FANTASTIC APPEARS IN LA PRESSE AFFAIRES
“The name of CIRQUE FANTASTIC must now be added to that of Cirque du Soleil, Les Sept doigts de la main, Cirque Éloize and many other Quebec-based entertainment companies. For now, this small business founded in 1998 by Marie-Josée Lévesque is better known around the world than in its own province. An interview with a businesswoman who manages her company while still working as an acrobat in all of the shows that she produces – and who also finds the time to raise her four children.” La Presse Affaires, May 5, 2010.
